Lafayette College - Assistant Director, Alumni Career Services
Lafayette College in Easton, PA is seeking a part-time Assistant Director for Alumni Career Services who will provide comprehensive career development services for alumni of all majors and class years. This new position will design and deliver web-based seminars on a full range of career management topics including but not limited to: career re-entry and transition services, job search assistance, and graduate and professional school planning. This person will also provide individual career coaching consultations, career assessments, and group workshops. The Assistant Director for Alumni Career Services will handle all benchmarking, evaluation and outcomes assessment for these services.
Responsibilities:
Qualifications: Masters Degree in Counseling or related field with a minimum of 5 years of related experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, superior presentation skills, in addition to strong organizational skills. The successful candidate must work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Superior proficiency in the use of computer technology to support the development and delivery of career services programs, and in depth knowledge of career counseling techniques and theory is required. Ability to work with alumni of all class years with diverse needs and from a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities:
There is a regular full-time 70 hours bi-weekly position available in the Career Development Center within the Office of Student Life for the Jefferson Schools of Health Professions, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Population Health of Thomas Jefferson University. The Career Counselor will provide career counseling and services to assist students and alumni with career choice and exploration. The responsibilities of the Career Counselor will include however not limited to; Provide career counseling to students and alumni on career choice and exploration, resume development, interviewing and job search skills; Plan and administer career development workshops, seminars and other events to guide students through the job-search process; Oversee/manage career resources including but not limited to print publications, books, and electronic resources relevant to the career planning needs of students & alumni; Assist in developing and administering special outreach programs to inform faculty, students, and alumni of the need for long-term career planning and career development, regardless of academic discipline; and Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in College Counseling, Higher Education/Student Personnel Administration, or related field required. One to two years experience (including graduate internship/practicum) assisting/advising college students in career counseling or other student affairs/student services capacity required. Knowledge of college student development, and career counseling theory strongly preferred. LPC ¿ Licensed Professional Counselor designation preferred. Successful candidates will demonstrate openness to diverse backgrounds and cultures, strong customer-service orientation, excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, ability to give presentations to large groups, a teamwork attitude, organizational skills, flexibility, and will value continuing growth and skill acquisition through professional development activities.
