Volunteering has many benefits. It is a great way to meet new people and network. Lots of volunteer opportunities are available. MACCA has over 10 committees that need YOU! Bring your talent and spare time to benefit the entire membership. The fun comes when you get involved! Evaluation Committee: The Evaluation Committee is responsible for developing, supplying and distributing the overall fall conference evaluations and the speaker evaluations. The members will recruit and train volunteers to distribute and collect the speaker evaluations during the conference as well as supply the trays for collecting the evaluations. They are responsible for providing to the speakers their copies of the evaluations following the presentations. The committee is also responsible for the tabulation and presentation of the overall conference and speaker evaluations to the executive board at the meeting following the fall conference.
Promotes events and activities that enhance the educational experience of the Fall conference. Volunteers are responsible for planning and hosting activities such as receptions, recreational and cultural activities, and tours. Duties involve decorating, cleaning, hosting, shopping, loading and unloading materials at the beginning and end of the conference. Nominations Committee: Nominations Chair & his/her committee are responsible for the new slate of officers and any vacant Member At Large spots. This entails sending out a ballot to the eInteract, the web site & compiling the membership ballots, contacting those nominated to check if willing to do role if elected. You also present the slate at Conference Business meeting to the membership. You also throughout the year attend Board meetings and keep track of who's being active to scout out possible nominees Conference Volunteer Committee: The main purpose of MACCA’s Volunteer Committee is to serve the needs of any and all other MACCA committees, primarily during the Fall Conference. The main purpose of the Volunteer Committee Chairperson is to organize the services needed by other committees, as well as be able to provide those services through the members of the Volunteer Committee. The Volunteer Committee Chairperson is responsible for contacting other committee chairpersons to obtain the type of service or services needed, the number of volunteers needed to complete the task, and the approximate time of day services are needed. The Chairperson will simultaneously solicit from the Volunteer Committee members the type of service they can provide and the time they have available to volunteer. The Chairperson will then coordinate the efforts of the volunteers available and provide, as closely as possible, the services needed by the other committees. New Members Committee: The main purpose of this committee is to welcome all new members of MACCA. Professional Development & NBCC (CEU) Committee: * - Collect material from each conference, including list of participants, information on speakers, and a program Exhibitors' Committee: The Exhibitors' Committee is charged with soliciting exhibitors for the fall annual conference. The committee serves as a liaison with the conference center staff and exhibitors, and assists with the planning and arrangements of the exhibition space. They are also charged with soliciting donations from exhibitors and other MACCA members for the raffle. Publicity and Recruitment Committee: The Publicity/Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for responding to membership inquiries, sending out welcoming packets, certificate of membership and membership cards. He/She also provides advertising for the association and related conferences. Registration and Membership Committee: The Registration and Membership Chair is responsible for developing a data base of conference attendees, collecting checks, and sending checks and data base information to the treasurer. Awards Committee: This committee identifies recipients for annual awards and develops programming to welcome new members during the Fall Conference. Seminar Series Committee: The Seminar Series Committee shall be responsible for maintaining the seminar series program according to the guidelines set down by the MACCA board. This includes all correspondence with program presenters and participants, working with the NBCC Committee, developing a database of seminar attendees, collecting fees and forwarding this information to the treasurer, and, if necessary, working with the workshop locations. This committee will also ensure that all seminars follow MACCA’s non-discrimination policy. Historian This committee coordinates all activities related to keeping an accurate and current record of events and news at the Association conferences, seminars or other activities as recommended by the President or Executive Board.
