Welcome to MACCA! It is my pleasure to serve as your President for the 2010 year. I promise it will be an exciting and educational year.

As a member of the career counseling profession for almost 7 years, I know how valuable MACCA resources and members can be. When I was in the first year of my graduate program, I attended and volunteered at a MACCA Conference. At that conference, I received the opportunity to learn from internationally renowned speakers and to network with people who were just starting out as well as those who had been in the profession for over 25 years; I felt like I was part of a bigger family. Since then, my MACCA family has grown and helped me achieve all of my professional goals thus far.

If you are a MACCA member or visiting our website for the first time, I encourage you to look at our mission: To provide a specialized, supportive and diverse organization where career professionals in the Middle Atlantic States can enhance the quality of their skills while networking and collaborating with others in the field.  Affordable annual conferences provide an opportunity to hear quality speakers who will educate members on relevant information.

While MACCA provides an annual conference with international, national and regional speakers, we also offer various professional development opportunities such as free Tele-interviews to help members meet their CEU needs. We offer members various social media outlets such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook to expand their networks and to connect job seekers with job opportunities. We also provide an e-Interact Newsletter twice a year that keeps the membership up-to-date about the profession.

Helping you to achieve your professional and networking goals is very important to us. As you can see, MACCA provides a lot of opportunity in every capacity to assist and support you. MACCA cannot function without its members, and without its members, we cannot be MACCA. I hope that you will take advantage of everything MACCA has to offer as well as to give back when opportunities arise. After all, family is about give and take, and we hope that you enjoy being a part of our MACCA family!
